Hey Founders!
I’m Tatem 👋
Each week I’ll surface the TikTok formats going viral before they become obvious. It’s what's working right now, why it works, and how you can use it.

This Week's Quick Take
Pop culture influences social media more than you think. If you pay attention to what’s happening in the world, you could be on the brink of virality.

Trend 1 — The Small Potato Stuff Trend
If you haven’t seen the new Spider-Man movie yet, I’ll do my best not to spoil anything.
But just know it was amazing, and it’s definitely had an impact on what’s trending now.
Starting off strong, we have big-potato stuff and small-potato stuff.
Big-potato stuff is anything that matters greatly.
Small-potato stuff is the opposite.
Your on-screen text should focus on one or the other, depending on what connects to your life.
The visual could be a video or a photo, but have it relate to your on-screen text in some way.
Why it Works For You:
This is a good post for a founder with limited time.
2 minutes and that’s it!
It’s also a relatable concept.
Let me give you an example.
Small potato stuff:
Spending your whole day working out of your bed
Being late to everything by 5 mins
Big potato stuff:
Selling a company
Scaling to 50 clients

Trend 2 — The How My Brain Sounds Trying To Trend
Oh my gosh!
I bet you’re juggling a bunch of different tasks right now.
How does that feel?
Maybe similar to this sound?
If yes, then this is a perfect concept for you.
All you have to do is record yourself and list out everything that’s going on.
Why it Works For You:
This works as both a relatable video and a to-do list.
I’ll give you mine:
How my brain sounds trying to juggle:
Client check-ins
Strategy decks
Editing videos
Training Claude
Eating healthy
Exercising
Talking to family
Spoiler alert: I only do about half of these on a daily basis.
I’ll let you decide which ones.
Trend 3 — The Jean Grey Freezing Trend
Okay, I lied.
I can’t keep a secret.
IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED SPIDER-MAN, DO NOT READ THIS.
I’M SERIOUS.
THIS IS YOUR LAST WARNING.
In the movie, there’s a scene where a whole city freezes.
The people in the city are fully aware they’re frozen.
They’re watching everything, but they just can’t move.
If you were randomly frozen in real time, what would you be doing?
Why it Works For You:
You can make this as literal or as funny as possible.
Here are some ideas:
POV: Jean Grey decided to freeze NY when you:
Have a presentation via Zoom with people in LA
Decide to take a drink of your coffee before letting it cool
Just sent an angry text to the wrong person
Got to the financials part of your board meeting
@ace.camaro Fahhhhh to late now #camaro #ss #fyp #spiderman #bnd
