Hey Founders!
Tatem here 👋
As a reminder, each week I’ll surface the TikTok formats going viral before they become obvious. It’s what's working right now, why it works, and how you can use it.

This Week's Quick Take
Emotions are a gold mine in content. If you can tug on some heartstrings or make a viewer laugh, you’re bound to get engagement.

Trend 1 — The Is There Anybody On Board Trend
I had a client hit 360k organic views from this yesterday, so it definitely works.
You know how in movies they ask if there’s a doctor on board?
This trend plays on that scenario.
The one difference being whatever you’re doing probably isn’t saving lives.
All you do is set your camera to 0.5x speed and act like you’re standing up to help.
Then add a funny caption.
No plane ticket, no problem.
You could switch it out for another location.
Is there anybody in this Wendy’s who can [insert skill]?
Why it Works For You:
This is great for someone who has what I call an “unsexy business.”
For the average person, maybe insurance isn’t glamorous.
Or perhaps trash bin washing is a bore.
But if you can frame it as a joke, suddenly you/your company has a lot more personality.
Just start with “Is there anybody on board who can…”
And fill in the blank from there.

Trend 2 — The I Would Literally Do Anything For You Trend
Let’s go on a philosophical journey now.
Take a look into the depths of your soul.
Tell me, what wouldn’t you do for your best friend?
Especially now that you’re a busy, overworked founder.
Grab a friend and make this video come to life.
Why it Works For You:
It allows you to make fun of the situation.
You care for this person, but you have to draw the line somewhere.
Here are some ideas:
Texting back
Putting your laptop away
Turning on Do Not Disturb at dinner
All of the above you may never catch me doing.
@elisehoogerdijk I just can’t @Claudia bgrs

Trend 3 — The Posted Vs. Deleted Trend
This one is just sweet (and easy).
You don’t even have to record.
Let’s view this one as “What my family sees vs what truly happened.”
Launched your company?
Yay, what a great picture. Mom is proud.
Not shown: you and your team eating your daily DoorDash order while coding.
Why it Works For You:
There are moments that we share with the world, and there are ones that we keep to ourselves.
Everyone is guilty of not advertising the scary or exhausting moments.
Maybe it’s because you’re worried it won’t work out.
Or maybe you don’t want judgment for how hard the journey has been.
However, once you’ve hit your goals, those instances become nostalgic.
Forever ingrained in our memories.
This trend pays homage to little, naive you who had only grit and a dream.
